BeeConSel at a scientific conference in China

At a scientific conference titled “‘The Belt and Road’ (Ili) international cooperation and Exchange Conference on bee germplasm Resources and Breeding” which took place in the end of May in China, Dr Uzunov from Company for Applied Research and Permanent Education in Agriculture (North Macedonia) gave a presentation on breeding and mating control, during which BeeConSel was also discussed.

The conference was organized in Xinjiang province, one of the three provinces where the Chinese black honey bee is distributed. It is located in the eastern part of the Tian Shan Mountains and represents the eastern boundary of the natural distribution of 𝘈𝘱𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘢 (𝘈. 𝘮. 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘹𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘶𝘢𝘯) in western China.

𝘈. 𝘮. 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘹𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘶𝘢𝘯 features cold resistance, high honey production, and fast spring build up, making it an interesting candidate for selective breeding.
